Japanese Protected Smartphone Kyocera Torque G03
Protected smartphones don’t share the same popularity as the usual ones, yet they easily find their customers. Users value them for the opportunities they offer, such as using them in hard conditions and not risking breaking their devices and spending a lot of money on fixing them or buying expensive replacements for broken details.
One of the examples of such a smartphone is Torque G03 made by Japanese Kyocera company. Devices produced by this company are famous for being strong and reliable, and the subject of the article fits these requirements perfectly.
The appearance of the smartphone is bright and colorful thanks to a variety of color options, but rather far from a minimalistic design. The look of the device was hugely impacted by the need to carefully protect it from dust and water – thus the safest and the most well-tested materials were used during production.
The screen of the device may not respond to the modern requirements but still perfectly manages all of it’s tasks. The size and resolution as small and low for today and will not be taken well by those who like to use their smartphone for watching films or playing games. The main reason for such parameters was an initial goal to make device’s battery charge last as long as possible. At the same time the screen is rather bright, have a good quality of color and can be used even against bright sunlight – which is an important quality for this kind of smartphones.
Gadget technical side is perfectly good. Even though it’s not an ultimate game smartphone, it doesn’t state itself as the one. It works with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and has 3 GB of operational memory. In this case the gadget perfectly works in everyday life, displays interface smoothly, and operates almost without any of small freezes. It’s important to mark that this decision works good in terms of saving battery charge. If you aren’t going to use it as a gaming platform Torque G03 will not disappoint you.
You can barely call this device a “camera-phone” as is shows quite mediocre results in this feature. You can make good shots using it, but without good lighting photos will always be noisy and low-quality. Due to the camera-control buttons on the sides of the smartphone and a high protection it greatly fits the role of an action-cam – it has no problems with, say, filming underwater. Camera app also have an interesting Action Overlay option, that allows you to add an overlay info layer while filming a video. It will include your current speed or your height above the sea level.
Basic battery can be charged with up to 2940 milliamp per hour, which isn’t a lot, but it should be taken into notion that this device has energy efficient screen and low resolution. With moderate usage smartphone can easily survive 24 hours without charging. It also has a removable battery – you can take a few of them and you would never be left with a dead “brick” while out.
To conclude all the information above, this device is not an innovative camera-phone or an ultimate gaming choice, but it would be great if you need a reliable and waterproof smartphone because it perfectly deals with everything else.
