TORQUE G01 smartphone ― the first ultra-rugged smartphone for au*1 to be certified with the United States Military Standard (MIL-STD-810G) in 11 categories*2.
This model is the second in the Torque series and builds on Kyocera’s strength in ruggedized, waterproof handsets.
The TORQUE G01 possesses high durability*3 against water immersion,
dust, shock, salt fog and humidity, among others ― making it ideal for use in not only everyday life but also in harsh outdoor environments and extreme work conditions.
The new handset also comes equipped with a touchscreen panel that allows for operation even when the screen is wet or the user is wearing non-specialized gloves, and a one-touch button to answer incoming calls.
Furthermore the TORQUE G01 comes with Kyocera’s proprietary Smart Sonic Receiver® technology which allows for clear sound reception even in noisy environments,
as well as two high-volume (>100db) speakers to allow for hands-free calling.
The handset also supports wireless battery charging (charging station sold separately).
The handset design incorporates urethane parts that provide impact shock resistance while also allowing for a steady grip.
This handset comes in red or black and is part of the new KDDI lineup announced on May 8.
